Four More (at Your Peril, Ignore . . . .) or The Truth about Ruth!

1) AVERAGE AVERAGE (AA)  =  (BA + OBP + SLG)
  3

The three traditional averages (BA, OBA, SA) themselves averaged: .400 career hitters, .500 single-season highs are to be especially prized. Ruth career over .500!

2) HITTING DIFFERENTIAL (HD)  =  SLG - OA

Introducing the Out Average (OA, the converse of the BA, i.e., .300 Batting Average = .700 Out Average), which is subtracted from the Slugging Average, showing value of hits as well as outs avoided hitting. Only the Babe is in the black!

3) HITTING AVERAGE (HA)  =  TB
  (AB - H)

Transcending the Slugging Average itself, which cannot discern outs, i.e., homer in 4 at-bats equals 2 doubles in 4 at-bats despite out difference, .800 being exceptional hitting average . . . .Bambino alone over 1.000!

4) HOMER EFFICIENCY (HE)  =  HR x 4
  (AB - H)

Corrects homer frequency fad by displaying home run bases attained while avoiding outs; reiterates Big Bam as true homer king!
